If you’ve travelled a long way, there are wonderful ways to let your South African journey linger a little longer.
A little more South Africa
Coming from overseas? Allow an extra day or two to discover Cape Town's harbour, history and mountain views, wander among the vineyards, or take the scenic road towards the Garden Route. There are lovely ways to explore at different paces and budgets — with an organised tour, private guide or a carefully planned self-drive.
Wander the V&A Waterfront, explore the city's cultural stories, visit Table Mountain when the weather allows, or take a sightseeing bus and let someone else do the driving.
Cape Town visitor inspiration ↗Stay in Stellenbosch or Franschhoek for vineyard lunches, Cape Dutch history, galleries and mountain scenery. The Franschhoek Wine Tram makes tastings easy without driving.
Discover the Winelands ↗Give yourself time for Wilderness, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and lush indigenous forest. Enjoy a comfortable self-drive or enquire about a separate local-operator itinerary.
Garden Route inspiration ↗South Africa has well-established visitor routes and experienced local operators. With sensible route planning, reputable transport and the usual big-city precautions, it's a rewarding place to explore. We can share our independent pre- and post-retreat travel ideas. These extra experiences are optional and are not included in the retreat fee. For a longer four-to-five-day Garden Route or safari experience, a separate local operator may be able to provide an independently booked itinerary, price in South African rand and terms. Any such extension would be booked and paid directly with that operator; no itinerary or price has yet been approved.
